Important
Snapshot Capture1 is an exclusive feature from the Event History Timeline in the Ring app. Snapshots cannot be viewed from the Ring website.
How to enable Snapshot Capture
- Open your Ring app.
- Tap the menu (☰).
- Tap Devices.
- Tap the desired device.
- Tap Device Settings.
- Tap Snapshot Capture.
- Toggle on the Snapshot Capture feature to activate.
- Select Snapshot Frequency time.
- Tap Save in the upper right.
How to view snapshots
- Open your Ring app.
- Tap the menu (☰).
- Tap Devices.
- Tap the device whose snapshots you wish to view.
- Tap Live View.
- Scroll to the left to see previous snapshots.
How to delete snapshots
- Open your Ring app.
- Tap the menu (☰).
- Tap Devices.
- Select the device whose snapshots you wish to delete.
- Review the Event History.
- Tap Actions.
- Select the snapshot you want to delete.
- Tap Delete to remove the selected snapshot.
- Tap Delete All to remove all of the snapshots.
- Tap Delete to confirm you want to remove the snapshot.
How to download snapshots2
- Open your Ring app.
- Tap the menu (☰).
- Tap Devices.
- Tap the desired device.
- Tap the Event History tile.
- Tap the menu (•••) for the snapshot you wish to download.
- Tap Download from the menu.
How to change the frequency of snapshots captured
- Open your Ring app.
- Tap the menu (☰).
- Tap Devices.
- Tap the desired device you want to change.
- Tap Device Settings.
- Tap Snapshot Capture.
- Select the frequency with which snapshots will be taken.
- Tap Save.
Snapshot Capture and device battery life
Increasing the snapshot frequency on a battery-operated device will reduce battery life.
