With do-it-yourself installation alongside your existing intercom, Ring Intercom lets you speak to visitors from anywhere via Two-Way Talk and provide access to your apartment building from anywhere.
With Ring Intercom, you can provide verified building access directly from the Ring app. The Shared User feature lets you provide others with access to your Ring device, giving significant others or housemates the ability to buzz themselves into the building using the Ring app on their own smartphone. Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries lets you provide verified delivery drivers with automated, time-bound building access when they have a parcel specifically for the building.** You can manage and remove trusted Shared Users or activate Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries at any time.

What is the recommended internet speed for Ring Intercom?
Ring Intercom requires a minimum upload speed of 1 mbps, but 2 mbps is recommended for optimal performance.
Data Usage and Recording Plans
Does Ring Intercom record or store my conversations?
By default, Ring Intercom does not record or store conversations.
NOTE: If you have a Video Doorbell or Security Camera, you can connect this device to your Ring Intercom via the Ring app, using the Linked Devices feature. With Linked Devices activated and a Ring Protect plan in place, a visitor interacting with your building intercom will trigger your other selected Ring device to start recording.*
Do I need a Ring Protect subscription to receive notifications?
No. All Ring Intercom features are accessible without a subscription. A Ring Protect subscription is required to enable audio and video recording for any Ring Video Doorbell or Security Camera that you link to Ring Intercom.

Where can I order Ring Intercom?
Ring Intercom will be available for purchase first in Germany and the UK via Ring.com and Amazon stores. In France, Spain, and Italy, Ring Intercom will be available for purchase in 2023.
Does Ring Intercom have a limited warranty?
Yes, a 1-year limited parts and lifetime theft protection warranty.

What if someone steals my Ring Intercom?
If stolen, we will replace it for free. Simply fulfill the reporting requirements and we’ll ship you a replacement Ring Intercom.

Installation, Power, and Connectivity
How is Ring Intercom powered?
Ring Intercom is powered by the Quick Release Battery Pack from Ring. Simply follow the setup instructions in the Ring app to set up Ring Intercom alongside the existing, compatible audio intercom. Ring Intercom comes with a spare Quick Release Battery and Charging Station, to make sure Ring Intercom stays powered, providing continued peace of mind.
What happens if my wifi is down?
In the case of a wifi disruption, Ring Intercom will move into Offline Mode. You will receive a “device offline” alert from the Ring app and functionality will be limited to that of the existing handset, so you can still talk to visitors and open the entrance to your building from inside the apartment. Once wifi is restored, Ring Intercom will automatically begin working again. If wifi is down during the time of a delivery and you have enabled Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries, the driver will not be able to access the shared entrance door without manual assistance.
Do I need permission to install Ring Intercom?
Lease agreements, home owner association agreements, co-owner arrangements and applicable laws may have restrictions on the installation and use of Ring Intercom. Customers should review applicable laws and their residence agreements carefully to make sure they are complying with any restrictions. It is important to seek out and obtain any required consents from the landlord or co-residents prior to installing the device and enabling features, such as Auto-Verify for Amazon Deliveries.
Does Ring Intercom require professional installation?
No. Ring Intercom does not require professional installation, or permanent modification, thanks to handy quick-install tabs on the device. The Ring app provides instructions in the Ring app to get Ring Intercom up and running. For further assistance, contact Ring Customer Support or consult a qualified electrician.
How do I set up Ring Intercom?
To set up your Ring Intercom:
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap the Menu.
- Tap Setup a Device.
- Tap Intercom.
- Follow the in-app instructions to set up your Ring Intercom alongside your existing compatible audio intercom.
How do I link Ring Intercom to other Ring devices?
If you have a Ring Video Doorbell or Ring Security Camera, you can link it with your Ring Intercom. Your Video Doorbell or Security Camera will then start recording when someone buzzes at your Ring Intercom.
To link your Ring Video Doorbell or Ring Security Camera with your Ring Intercom:
- Open the Ring app.
- Tap the three lines in the top left corner.
- Tap Devices.
- Tap your Ring Intercom.
- Tap Linked Devices.
- Choose the doorbell or camera should start recording when someone buzzes your Ring Intercom.
- Tap Save in the top right corner.
